Intelesens at Medica
Intelesens to show its new Vitalsens device at Medica 2009.
Intelesens will be exhibiting its new ‘plug and play' Vitalsens vital signs monitor at this year's Medica show in Dusseldorf on November 18 to 21.
At the end of 2008 the company began shipping its CE approved V-Patch Cardiac Event Monitor, which is being sold globally through V-Patch Medical Systems (VPMS).
Since then, the company has completed the development of its ‘plug and play' patch-based Vitalsens monitor, which will measure ecg, heart rate, skin temperature and motion using a 3-axis accelerometer. The device will be CE approved and available for purchase by mid-December this year.
Vitalsens transmits data via Bluetooth to a pc or any Bluetooth compatible device and will be sold with a set of disposable sensor patches and pc interface software.
Vitalsens is designed to provide wireless ECG/Heart rate/temperature and motion data for any existing or new monitoring product. It is designed to be rapidly added to or integrated into medical devices or systems.
- Removing wires from bedside monitors and untethering the patient
- Adding ECG to home-based telemonitoring systems
- Creation of a local monitoring network eg all the beds in a ward
- Research into a range of health-related areas The company believes that this tested platform offers a much quicker and safer route to market for OEMs.
